Bexar County, Texas – Authorities are urgently searching for 16-year-old Jewell Marie Hatten-Smith, who was last seen on August 8, 2024, at approximately 12:15 PM. The teenager was captured on her parents’ security camera leaving their residence and entering a silver sedan in the driveway.
Jewell was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt or hoodie, blue jeans, and carrying a dark backpack along with a dark-colored gym bag. She is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has issued a plea for information regarding Jewell’s whereabouts, urging anyone with details to come forward. They have specifically called on drivers for ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft, who may have provided transportation to the missing juvenile, to contact them at (210) 335-6000.
Jewell was not carrying a cellphone at the time of her disappearance, and it is unknown whether someone else provided her with one. Authorities are treating the situation with the utmost seriousness, emphasizing the legal consequences of harboring a runaway, which is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
