Urgent Search Underway for Missing 74-Year-Old Duane Doherty Last Seen in Rich Creek, Virginia

Rich Creek, Virginia – The community is on high alert as 74-year-old Duane Doherty has been reported missing. He was last seen on August 23, leaving his residence in a red Toyota Rav 4 with Virginia handicap plates 3042ZF.

Doherty informed his family that he was heading to Wisconsin to visit a sick friend. However, his family has been unable to reach him since he left, raising significant concern for his safety.

The Rich Creek Police Department is leading the search effort and is urging anyone who may have seen Doherty or his vehicle to contact them immediately at 540-921-3842.

The situation has garnered attention on social media, with many expressing their concern and sharing information to help locate Doherty. Lisa Robinson Wilson, Bridget Boothe, Stacey Akers, and Kenny Jarels of The AWARE Foundation, Inc. have all shared posts on Facebook, urging the public to assist in the search.

The National Center for Missing and Endangered, Inc. has also become involved, amplifying the call for assistance.

The police and the family are deeply concerned and hope for the safe return of Duane Doherty. Any information, no matter how small, could be crucial in finding him.
