Merritt, BC – The community of Merritt is on high alert as the search intensifies for 77-year-old Ron Kristoff, who was last seen on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Kristoff, who suffers from memory issues and may be confused, was last observed in the Merritt area driving a distinctive 2010 GMC 2500 Sierra 4×4. The vehicle, white in color, has an extended cab and a white canopy, and is notable for its large, twisted rear bumper on the driver’s side.
Authorities are urging anyone who spots Kristoff or his vehicle to contact the Merritt RCMP immediately at 250.378.4262 or dial 911. The community has been asked to keep a vigilant eye out and to ensure Kristoff remains in sight until authorities can reach him.
The Rise and Shine Seniors Support Services, a local community organization, shared the missing person report on Facebook, highlighting the urgency of the situation. They describe Kristoff as a 77-year-old male with white hair, a scruffy white beard, and a pronounced limp.
A Facebook post from the organization emphasized the importance of immediate action, "Please don’t let him out of your sight until the authorities arrive."
