Verona, Wisconsin – The community of Verona is mourning the tragic loss of Casey Eugene Peterson, a 35-year-old automotive technician, who passed away on his birthday, Saturday, August 17, 2024. Casey, born on August 17, 1989, in Madison, Wisconsin, was a well-known figure in the local area, admired for his skill in automotive repair and his deep connection to nature.
Casey began his career early, working for his father’s company, Peterson Home Improvement, from the age of 8. He later pursued an associate’s degree in automotive technology from MATC in 2009, establishing himself as a highly skilled electrician and automotive technician in the Madison region. His colleagues and friends knew him for his remarkable manual dexterity and passion for car maintenance.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Casey was an adventurer at heart, embracing activities such as hiking and kayaking. He recently completed the challenging Incline trail near Manitou Springs, Colorado, with his nephew Owen, a testament to his perseverance and love for nature.
Casey was also a black belt in karate, a movie enthusiast, and a lover of live music and comedy performances. He was known for his engaging sense of humor, often quoting actors like Bill Murray and Adam Sandler.
Casey is survived by his parents, Keith and Nancy Peterson; his brother, Ryan Peterson; his sister, Ashley Ernzen; his grandfather, Donald Peterson; his nieces and nephew, Kalise, Owen, and Hailee; his significant other, Jennifer Moon; and his beloved cat, Gabby.
