Lafayette, LA – Veronica Buzbee, a resident of Lafayette, is currently on life support in the ICU after a sudden medical emergency. According to her daughter, Kaylee Buzbee, Veronica’s condition deteriorated rapidly after she flatlined on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Kaylee, just 17 years old, has been left heartbroken as she faces the reality of losing her mother. She has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her mother’s funeral expenses, seeking support from the community during this difficult time.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Kaylee wrote, "Mom is in ICU on life support and is not gonna make it… I never thought I would have to see my own mom on life support nor be planning my mom’s funeral."
The fundraiser has raised $130 so far, with donations from Eustolio Silva, Noemi Martinez, Shauna Baird, and an anonymous donor. Kaylee expressed her gratitude to those who have already contributed and to those who have offered their condolences.
Friends and family have also shared their sorrow and support on social media. Misty Martin commented, "Omgosh! I am so sorry to hear this," while Roxana Rodriguez, who grew up with Veronica, shared, "Oh wow!! We grew up together! I’m so sorry."
