Virginia Beach Community Unites to Support Benjamin Alvarado Jr.’s Family After Tragic Loss

Virginia Beach, Virginia – The Virginia Beach community is rallying to support the family of Benjamin Alvarado Jr., a beloved father, friend, partner, and veteran, who tragically lost his life on August 18, 2024. Benjamin was on a journey of self-improvement and had been sober for over 70 days when he was involved in a fatal accident caused by a driver under the influence. His family and friends are now seeking support to give him a respectful farewell.

Benjamin Alvarado, his son, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise $20,000 to cover the costs of the funeral, burial arrangements, and other related expenses. As of today, $2,785 has been raised through 14 donations. The community’s outpouring of support reflects the deep impact Benjamin Jr. had on those who knew him.

Chrystal Herrick, a close friend, shared her thoughts on Facebook, expressing her deep sorrow and urging others to contribute. "Ben Alvarado was an amazing father, friend, partner, and veteran. He deserves a respectful burial and the family needs help. He will always be with me, and my love for him will always be in my heart. Please help if you can. Any little bit helps!" she wrote.

Gabrielle Charbonneau also expressed her desire to help, offering to give cash directly to the family to avoid any fees. "Chrystal Herrick, can I give you cash so they get all the money instead of a fee being taken out?" she asked, showing the community’s commitment to supporting the Alvarado family during this difficult time.

Jaclyn Neham offered her condolences, stating, "I am so very sorry for your loss. May Ben’s memory be a blessing." These heartfelt messages highlight the love and respect Benjamin Jr. garnered from those around him.
