Warren Wilson Davis II Dies in Tragic Henrico County Cycling Accident Involving Pickup Truck

Henrico County, Virginia – Warren Wilson Davis II, a 56-year-old resident of Henrico, was tragically killed in a cycling accident on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The incident occurred at approximately 9:56 p.m. at the intersection of Nine Mile Road and Hart Street.

Henrico Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of a collision between a pickup truck and a cyclist riding a tricycle. According to preliminary investigations, Davis was traveling east on Nine Mile Road when he was struck by a pickup truck moving in the same direction. Despite officers’ efforts to administer life-saving measures, Davis was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital due to the injuries he sustained.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities. Investigators are currently looking into the cause of the accident, with early indications suggesting that alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

Henrico Police continue to remind the community about the importance of road safety through their "Watch Out Ahead Henrico" (WOAH!) campaign. The campaign emphasizes the shared responsibility of all road users—whether on foot, bicycle, or in a vehicle—to ensure safety for everyone on the road.
