Washington, D.C. Community Urged to Assist in Search for Missing 16-Year-Old Rayniya Brown Last Seen on Alabama Avenue

Washington, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department is urgently seeking public assistance in locating 16-year-old Rayniya Brown, who was last seen on Monday, August 5, 2024, in the 4700 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast. Rayniya’s disappearance was reported to the authorities on August 9, 2024, and her family, along with the police, are asking the community for any information that could help bring her home safely.

Rayniya is described as a Black female with a light brown complexion, standing between 5’6" and 5’7" tall, and weighing between 220 and 230 pounds. She has brown eyes and light brown hair styled in braids. On the day she went missing, Rayniya was wearing a black t-shirt paired with a yellow plaid overall dress and white sneakers.

The search for Rayniya has garnered significant attention on social media, with many community members and organizations sharing posts to spread the word. The Washington Metropolitan Police Department also took to Facebook to share a post, urging anyone with information about Rayniya’s whereabouts to come forward. Henderson Long, another concerned community member, shared the missing person alert on his Facebook page, echoing the plea for assistance.

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division is leading the investigation, and they are encouraging anyone with information to contact them directly at (202) 576-6768 or the Real Time Crime Center at (202) 727-9099. Anonymous tips can also be sent via text message to 50411.

The family and the police are hopeful that community support will lead to Rayniya’s safe return. The urgency and concern surrounding her disappearance highlight the importance of collective vigilance and cooperation in such critical situations.
