Watseka, IL Community Mourns the Loss of Kathy L. Riston, A Beloved Resident

Watseka, IL – The Watseka community is grieving the loss of Kathy L. Riston, a beloved resident, who passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at the age of 66. Surrounded by her loving family, Kathy left this world leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering love.

Kathy was known throughout Watseka for her warm smile, calm demeanor, and the enduring courage she demonstrated throughout her life. She was a beacon of light and comfort to those around her, providing support and care not only to her family but also to those she served during her years as a personal assistant in home healthcare. Her compassionate nature touched many lives, and she will be remembered for her dedication to helping others.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Curtis Riston Sr., her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a large extended family who will cherish her memory. Her passing is a profound loss for all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire the Watseka community.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Centennial Christian Church in Watseka. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to support the family during this difficult time.

Kathy L. Riston’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be deeply missed.
