Wellsboro Community Mourns the Loss of Joshua P. Jessup with Fundraising Efforts to Support His Family

Joshua P. Jessup, age 42, of Wellsboro, PA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Joshua was well-known in the community as the owner of PNT Auto Body and had a deep love for basketball and outdoor activities like fishing, camping, hiking, and kayaking. He leaves behind his wife, Kali R. (Mulhollen) Jessup, and their two young sons, Braylen and Bransyn.

Joshua was born on April 9, 1982, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. He was the son of Tina M. (Johnson) Jessup and the late Patrick W. Jessup. In addition to his immediate family, Joshua is survived by his grandmother, Sandy (Craig) Sladkey, his sister, Amanda (Ian) Wood, and several nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2024, at Carleton Funeral Home in Wellsboro, with Pastor Kristi A. Webster officiating. The service will follow a visitation period from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In the wake of Joshua’s sudden passing, the Wellsboro community has rallied to support his family. A GoFundMe campaign organized by Bobbi Jo Dawson, a cousin of Kali Jessup, aims to raise $10,000 to help Kali and her boys during this challenging time. The fundraiser highlights the financial burden left on Kali, as she now faces the daunting task of providing for her children without the income from the auto body shop she and Joshua operated.

Bobbi Jo Dawson shared, "As many of you may know, Kali’s husband Josh passed away unexpectedly, leaving her with 2 young boys to provide for with no income from the body shop Josh & Kali owned and operated together." She added, "Kali is too prideful to ask for help herself but is in dire need to get her grounding before entering the workforce to supplement the income she had always relied on."

The community has responded with an outpouring of support and condolences. Many have taken to Facebook to express their sorrow and offer prayers for Joshua’s family.

Heather Deer wrote, "So young. Prayers to his family."
Joyce McCullough added, "Sending prayers for his family and friends."
Christine Applebee shared, "Thoughts and prayers for his family."
Cindy Stone Neally commented, "Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends."

The funeral home’s website, www.carletonfh.com, also provides information on the memorial service and how to make donations in lieu of flowers. Memorial donations can be sent to Kali Jessup for the benefit of Joshua’s sons at P.O. Box 1085, Wellsboro, PA 16901.

As the community grieves, this fundraising effort underscores the importance of collective support in times of unexpected loss, providing a lifeline to a family navigating an uncertain future.
