Wes Logan Hospitalized After Boating Accident During Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain

Lake Champlain, NY – Professional angler Wes Logan was involved in a severe boating accident today during the Bassmaster Elite competition at Lake Champlain. Logan, who is well-known in the fishing community, was taken to the hospital following the incident, which occurred when his boat hit a bad wave, potentially striking something unseen in the water. The impact caused the motor to detach from the boat, leading to a dangerous spinout.

Logan sustained a head injury during the 360-degree spin but managed to stay conscious long enough to call for help. Despite the severity of the accident, Logan was quickly transported to the nearest hospital, where he was evaluated, scanned, and treated. Fortunately, he was medically cleared and was able to return to the competition later in the day.

The news of the accident quickly spread, prompting an outpouring of support from the community. Neil Paul shared his concern on Facebook, saying, "Please take a minute to hold Wes Logan Fishing up in prayer at this very moment. I don’t have any details or news other than he was involved in an accident on Lake Champlain today during competition of the Bassmaster Elite and has been transported to the hospital. I absolutely love this young man."

Others echoed similar sentiments, with Terry Long expressing, "Hope he is OK," and Paula Clayton adding, "Praying!" The overwhelming support reflects the deep connection Logan has with his fans and fellow anglers.

Despite the scare, Logan’s determination to get back on the water was evident. He was discharged from the hospital and resumed fishing, with his return to the competition scheduled for later in the afternoon.

This incident highlights the inherent dangers of professional fishing, especially in competitive settings like the Bassmaster Elite. The community is relieved that Logan’s injuries were not more severe, and his swift recovery is a testament to his resilience and the quick response of the medical team.

As Logan continues to recover, his supporters remain by his side, thankful that the outcome was not more tragic.
