Weston Small, a 22-year-old from the Ashland area, was reported missing after floating the Tongue River with friends on August 15, 2024. He was last seen around 6 p.m., wearing a grey lightweight sweater and black or grey pants. The Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office promptly mobilized Search and Rescue efforts.
Weston had gotten ahead of his group while on the river and had not been seen since. His disappearance prompted widespread concern, with many in the community and on social media expressing their hopes for his safe return.
"Prayers for him and his family," Terry Currier posted, echoing the sentiments of many others like Amber Lynn, who added, "Many prayers he is found safe." Mindy Jorgensen also shared her concerns, writing, "Prayers to all that he is found safe."
The Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office updated the public on August 16, 2024, confirming that Weston had been located. However, they provided no further details at this time. The community, relieved by the news, continues to support Weston and his family during this time.
