Whitesburg, Kentucky – The community of Whitesburg is mourning the loss of Donnie Lynn Baker, a cherished member of the community who passed away at the age of 55. Donnie died on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that will be deeply missed.
Donnie was the beloved son of Gertrude Sandlin Baker Tyree and the late Orville Jean Kincer Baker. He was known for his unwavering devotion to his family, including his wife, Angela Jackson Baker, and their children. His son, Harvey Lee Baker, who was also his best friend, and his daughters, Alandra Baker of Whitesburg and Sandara Brock of Isom, are among those who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts. Donnie also leaves behind his brother, Orville "Bo" Baker, and his sisters, Melissa Adams of Richmond and Tammy Cook of Harrodsburg.
The community will come together to pay their respects at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesburg. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM, officiated by Jonathan Adams. Donnie will be laid to rest at Green Acres Cemetery in Ermine, Kentucky.
