Cheyenne, Wyoming – William Sanders, a 78-year-old resident of Cheyenne, tragically lost his life in a fatal T-bone collision on August 14, 2024. The accident occurred at around 1:11 p.m. at the intersection of Nationway and Old Trail Road.
According to local police reports, Sanders was driving a Subaru Outback and approached a stop sign at the intersection. He proceeded into the intersection, pulling out in front of an eastbound Ford F-250 that was towing a flatbed trailer with a small track loader. The Ford struck the driver’s side of Sanders’ Subaru.
The impact of the collision was severe, leaving Sanders critically injured. He was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford, an 18-year-old from Hillsdale, was not injured in the crash.
This incident marks one of the 62 road fatalities reported in Wyoming this year, with eight occurring in Laramie County, as noted by the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The community mourns the loss of William Sanders, a long-time resident whose life was tragically cut short in this unfortunate accident.
