Williamsport Community Rallies to Support Cremation Costs for Beloved Resident Walter O’Hara

Williamsport, PA – The community of Williamsport is coming together to support the family of Walter O’Hara, who was found deceased in his home on August 27, 2024, at the age of 72. O’Hara, a cherished member of the community known for his kindness and warmth, had been battling illness for some time. His passing has left his family in shock, particularly due to the financial burden of his final arrangements.

Walter O’Hara did not have insurance or life policies to cover the costs of his cremation, leaving his family struggling to give him a dignified farewell. To alleviate the financial strain, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized by Amanda Lee, who is seeking to raise $3,500 to cover the cremation expenses.

As of today, the fundraiser has raised $20 from a single donor, Exley Jessica, who contributed just minutes ago. The O’Hara family is hoping for more donations to help meet the goal, as they have only two days to arrange for the transfer of Walter’s body.

Amanda Lee, the fundraiser’s organizer, expressed the family’s deep gratitude for any support, emphasizing how much even small donations could help during this difficult time. The fundraiser highlights Walter O’Hara’s impact on those around him, noting his ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued.

The community is encouraged to donate and share the fundraiser to help ensure that Walter O’Hara receives the respectful farewell he deserves.
