Harvey Cedars, NJ – In a heartbreaking incident, 18-year-old Zeina Mahafzah of Wayne, New Jersey, lost her life in a boating accident on Sunday. Zeina was enjoying a day on the water with her father near Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars when the tragic accident occurred.
Authorities reported that Zeina was being towed on a raft by her father’s boat. While attempting to board the boat, she was fatally struck by the propellers. The impact caused severe injuries, leading to her death at the scene.
Zeina was set to begin her college journey at Rutgers University next week, a milestone now forever missed. Her family, including her father, Al Mahafzah, is devastated by this tragic loss. Al Mahafzah, a Managing Partner at Enova and a respected figure in the community, is under care as he copes with the trauma of the incident.
The New Jersey State Police have confirmed that the accident is under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
