Zimbabwean Community Raises Concerns as 62-Year-Old Michael Mabhena Remains Missing Since 1994 in Bulawayo

Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – The Zimbabwe Republic Police has issued a renewed appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of Michael Mabhena, a resident of Nkulumane, Bulawayo, who has been missing since August 1994. Mabhena, who was 32 years old at the time of his disappearance, would now be 62 years old.

According to the police report, Mabhena was last seen wearing a black and white T-shirt, black jean trousers, and white farmer shoes. Standing at approximately 1.67 meters tall with a medium build and dark complexion, he left his residence in 1994 and never returned. The police are urging anyone with information to contact ZRP Nkulumane or the nearest police station.

The decades-long disappearance of Mabhena has sparked conversation and concern across social media. Skyz Metro FM shared the missing person alert, leading to numerous comments on Facebook. Wamanxuluma Mbuyazi expressed disbelief, commenting, “1994????” Similarly, Nyoniyezwe Matshelela Nyoni Bhongwane questioned the details, writing, “1994?” Others, like Nqobile Matshelela, pointed out the confusion regarding Mabhena’s age, asking, “He’s 62 now or in 1994? I’m pretty sure we could get more details.”

The appeal for information has brought back memories of Mabhena’s mysterious disappearance, and the community remains hopeful that new information might emerge after all these years.
